Apple CEO promised to achieve success in AI

At a meeting with employees, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that the company is "obligated" to win in the AI space. This was reported by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.

It took place shortly after the report on profits and losses. The top manager informed investors and analysts about a significant increase in investments in artificial intelligence.

"Apple must do this. It will do this. It's like our chance — and we will take it," Cook said to the employees.

Despite the launch of various AI features under the Apple Intelligence initiative, the promised improvements to the Siri voice assistant have been postponed. Cook seems to have acknowledged the company's lag behind its competitors.

"We were rarely the first. There were PCs before Macs, smartphones before iPhones, many tablets before iPads, players before iPods. But it was Apple that created the modern versions of these categories. I think the same about AI," he noted.

Kuk compared the development of artificial intelligence technology to the emergence of the internet, smartphones, cloud computing, and applications. He urged employees to actively integrate neural networks into their work.

"Each of us is already using AI, and as a company, we are obligated to use it. Otherwise, we will be left behind, and that is unacceptable."

Recall that in March, Apple’s senior director overseeing Siri, Robby Walker, called the delays in the release of key AI features for the voice assistant "ugly and shameful."
