On August 22, according to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean prosecution is seeking a three-year prison sentence for actress Hwang Jung-eum, who has been charged with embezzling 4.3 billion won (approximately 3.07 million USD) and investing in Virtual Money.
On the 21st, the Jeju District Prosecutor's Office requested the court to impose a 3-year prison sentence on the accused actor Hwang Jung-eum for the crime of violating the "Special Economic Crimes Aggravated Punishment and Related Laws" (embezzlement) during the public trial held by the Second Criminal Division of Jeju District Court (Chief Judge Lim Jae-nam).
According to previous reports, on June 17, South Korean actress Hwang Jung-eum (phonetic) was sued for allegedly misappropriating approximately 4.2 billion won (about 3.07 million USD) of company funds to invest in Virtual Money.
